hiding a menu items in masterpage

you can hide any of control of master page in child page as:

suppose if you want to hide any any image of masterpage(site.master) in its child page(default.aspx) then

in default.aspx's page_load event of child page write this way:

Image i2 = (Image)Master.FindControl("Image1"); //Image1 id of image in master page

i2.Visible = false;

Thanks for reply, here am not using sitemap, i created menu using "css code". In one of the page have 3 menu items and another page have only 2 menu items, how to do?
