Handling server exceptions with Breeze SaveChanges () Method

Hi.

First of all, when your code runs first it will come to the SaveChanges(), after that it will goto the Validate() and in that Validate() you are always returning result as false, even if you are not checking whether the data is right/wrong. So in validate() always it returns false and it will never hit to the catch. So now in your SaveChanges() you receive as false, so by default it will go to the else condition and always it will throw Exception as "not valid data".

To Catch the actual error change your code like this,

return _repository.SaveChanges(saveBundle);

catch(Exception ex)

{//put a breakpoint in this line to check the actual error

Boolean result = false;

try

{

//Here you need to validate the data whether it is correct or not. If you don't want to validate then, Don't always return false else return true.

return result;

}

catch (Exception)

{

return result;

}

}

I think after doing all these changes, you will not receive Failed to add item, please refresh and try again this error.
