generate random numbers

Is this a homework assignment? Don't expect someone else to do the homework for you. Make an attempt to write the program yourself and post the code you are having trouble with. Then someone will help you.

I need to know how to read in amount of numbers to be gererated. Read in number of sets to generate(at least two) Generate the Lottery Number sets and store them in a two dimensional array limit numbers between 1 and 54 no number can be generated twice

With values between 1-100 you could also use Radnom.Next(1,100). Did you all notice that the random numbers aren't really random. When executing the program it gives the same results over and over. This can be worked around a little by using the seed parameter. Random rnd = new Random(int seed);

please use rnd() function to generate random numbers. If the number range need to lie between 1-100 then 100*rnd() simmly range till 1000 you need to do : 1000*rnd() thanks Manoj

the Console.WriteLine() method prints onto a console window, which is not shown if you are programming a Windows Application. To print them onto a form, you have to add a Label to the form and then set the text in that Label to the text you wish to print.

yeah you can add Label MyLabel = new Label (); after int [] array = new int [10]; then repalce array [i] = rndm.Next (50); Console.WriteLine(array[i] + " \n"); with array [i] = rndm.Next (50); MyLabel.Text+=array [i].ToString();

Hi The class Random is located in the namespace System (declerated with: using System;). To show things on a form, use text boxes etc. Simon

hi thanx. i really felt happy to see replies, solutions for my problem. this is the first time i've ever entered a forum, and finding confident that i could get away with my C# problem. i believe i was not clear abt what i said. i my problem is 2-fold.to generate random numbers, and to print them onto screen. i use Console.WriteLine() to print the results on the screen. but dont find anything on the form. infact, i could not print even some messages on the screen. dont know why. is there any other output screen other than the form? and, also, here i dont find System.Random namespace. why, whats this all about? could anyone plz tell me?

Use the Random class to generate the numbers. Use a Queue (class) to store the numbers, and then print them from the Queue.
