How do I generate a random password for a new user in my web application and automatically send it to his/her e-mail address when the registration is successful?

Ummmm. use a random number generator to build a string...then create a mail message with the appropriate boiler plate and include the generated string.... Each of these topics have been covered in a number of posts. If you could be a little more detailed on what area you are having problems with, it would be helpful.
