Focus on Modal popup textbox

how can i get the focus on My modal popup textbox....i tried out one script but still i am not getting the focus . i am getting one script error like"htmlfile: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. for modalpopup"
give me the solution or some sample code???????

This question is very confusing. It is very rare for a textbox to be a popup anything. You don't specify whether this is a desktop application or a web application or whatever, so it is very unclear what relevance that a htmlfile has.
