Find word counts in document file.

Hi,

I want to find the Word Count from the Word document. that may be the .doc / .docx / .rtf format. the word may contain more pages. i reffered many post. every one said that's not possible to find the correct count. that must be differ.

i want to know how to use Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word to get the count. or is there any other way to find the obsolute count.

Thanks Alice. It's Work. but not Perfectly. while i open the word file it shows 175 words, but the return 161. i can't get the correct output still now. Anyway Thank You so much.

I attached the dll file. but which namespace i want to use? i tried with
using Spire.Doc.Documents; but same error i got. kindly tell me which name space i want to use.

The solution I post is not using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word. It's based on another word library Spire.Doc. You can get its free version from https://www.nuget.org/packages/FreeSpire.Doc/ and then reference its dll in your project.

Thanks alice.I already tried that, But that's not work. i got error as "'System.__ComObject' does not contain a definition for 'WordCount'". is there any options.

this is my code. that marked line returnthe value. but not correctly. only 5 words in my test file. that return 7 words.

Hi,

I think Spire.Doc can meet you need, it supports both .doc, .docx and .rtf format.
