Sharepoint designer 2010- Error Rendering Controls

I have custom forms(New,Edit,Display) in a list.When i'm opening the forms in Sharepoint designer 2010, all controls in the page have following error:Error Rendering Control - An error occurred while fetching preview (refer screenshot)

The same Custom forms are not throwing any error in other site.what is causing the issue? Anyone have solution to this?

In my case - The URL Sits on Load balancer shared with 5 different WFE servers. Issue got resolved after pointing the host file to one of the WFE's server.

NoNow form is opening normally with all the field controls without any error rendering controls in SharePoint designer.
As a workaround I did pointing to individual servers to see if any one of server is culprit and causing issue?

every individual server works fine then concluded that issue could be due to load balancer. Because here we are bypassing load balancer pointing to host entries.

Though it is not a permanent fix, for time being we need to do host entry on local machine inorder to edit and make changes to form.

The controls you have are custom controls. Hence, you aren't getting the general preview for SPD. SPD will not give you data in What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get mode. It can only decode SharePoint specific elements (and not custom elements/controls)

Are the fields on form - out of box or custom fields?
