Draw rectangle inside panel in c# windows application

if a user enterd height,width to draw rectangle, they given values are more than panel height ,width means show msg box of yes,no. If user click yes means adjust the rectangle to draw rectangle within panel not to go outside the panel .... how to do this please anybosy hep me i am beginer

Please find the attached updated project.

Couple of things had been modified and added
For autosizing of the panel1 (drawing panel) has been moved to another panel named panel2 (for auto scrolling when drawing increase/decrease)
Removed the anchor property of the panel1 and for resizing, an event has been used to set the min width when form resizes
Removed the list of rectangle from paint function to validate ( as it is initializing again on every screen painting).
Added default click event to create rectangle to avoid focusing and clicking
and many more things can be optimized to make it better but for experimenting, it is enough for a start.

Hope, the issue has been resolved as per your expectation.

Moreover, if you are starting windows application, I highly recommend you to go for WPF

hi

if i gave x,y, height and width of the rectangle that is greater than panel size draw rectngle and adjust to withne panel size draw rectangle, but some time is showing wrong output and negative values are also showing.

how t resolve , i wrote code but showing diffrent anybody hep me

You got color in color variable (make it global and use it while creating shapes)

color = this.cmbBoarderclr.SelectedItem.ToString();

On panel_paint event, use like

Rectangle rt = new Rectangle(100, 100, 200, 200);

g.FillRectangle(new SolidBrush(color), rt);

Note: it is an example to draw filled rectangle, use this in your code as per protocol

i filled combobox with colours, next how to give dropdown value i am nt getting below is my code

There were several functions to draw/fill shapes for a play around.

DrawRectangle - will draw an outline of a rectangle

FillRectangle - Draw's a rectangle with filled color
Fill your combobox with color names

while drawing shapes, use dropdown's value.

You are done

I thought to adjust the rectangle size (in list) when the size of panel changes then I skipped and modified the code. If it helps then always prefer to accept the answer so one can get quick answer in near future. Good Luck!!

Compare the size of the panel and the rectangle to be drawn, calculate the minimum of two of them and then draw
