Download csv using mvc and jquery

you can never download a file stored on a server by directly specifying path in jQuery

 

jQuery is JS code and it will always run in browser i.e. client side

 

so if you stored your file somewhere on server, then you need to create an action method which will write this file to response stream,

then from JQuery you can call this action method and get the file as result.

I think you need to clarify your question exactly what you want?

 

while working in web application there is nothing like C drive, D drive, etc.

 

always think whats going to happen when you deploy it on a web server

 

if you want to give use the option to download some file when they click on a link on webpage, then you can use file stream to read the file and write the output to response stream.

 

The file should be accesible in project folder or somewhere on shared folder.
