First You Nedd to Start the Project U need to do Following Things in .NET:

1.Understand The Project Flow.

2.Requierments: Visual stuido 2017 and any Sql(DB).

3.You NEED to Understand the Logic of the code in C# code Standards.

4.Lot of new Technology you need to Learn Ex: Angularjs,Mvc,WebApi,etcc...

You need updated version of visual studio that's enough. Database you can select as per your client requirement, it may be sql server, mysql, Mongo db, or Oracle etc.. You have to follow some coding standards..
