Disable Enter Key .....

You'll need to temporarily disable your Form's AcceptButton property (by setting it to Nothing) whilst the input focus is within the RTB by handling its Enter and Leave events as well as its KeyDown event to prevent the Enter key generating a new line:

Private Sub RichTextBox1_KeyDown(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles RichTextBox1.KeyDown

If e.KeyCode = Keys.Enter Then

e.Handled = True

End If

End Sub

Private Sub RichTextBox1_Enter(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles RichTextBox1.Enter

Me.AcceptButton = Nothing

End Sub

Private Sub RichTextBox1_Leave(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles RichTextBox1.Leave

Me.AcceptButton = Button1 ' or whatever your default button is
