Database control

Hello, I am about to start codeing a big project in C# and I am going to be using an Oracle database in it. I wanted to hear from you if you have ever used some third party libraries or Add-ons that have some set of great tools provided for you that will ease the way you browse and select rows and edit and stuff like that.... ????

for oracle there are several good third party tools. for the connection i recommend that you use the oledb provider that comes with oracle. it is a lot more powerful then the provider that microsoft use. as for general development within the oracle environment. use toad. toad is a graphical front end for oracle and has all the requirements for developing in oracle. has all the features you would expect like debugging code and procedures that are in the database. you can download a free version of it. for displaying in the .net environment, well once the data is in your app, the database you are connected to is pretty irrelevant. if you want a good data grid then janus is pretty powerful as well as any of the component one suite hope that helps

Desktop. I was thinking about stuff like display a Grid view, wasy browsing, refresh handled and updates easy.... etc.

Web or desktop project? Have you read about asp.net 2.0? They implement a new set of DataSource controls that save some code. Here is a bit of an exapmple No DataSets, DataAdapters etc
