Crm post and pre images entity

Entity entity = (Entity)context.InputParameters["Target"];
Entity preentity = (Entity)context.PreEntityImages["PreImage"];
Entity postentity = (Entity)context.PostEntityImages["PostImage"];

i Have an entity email and i am developing a plugin kindly tell me what kind of values will be fetched by entity , preentity and postentity and kindly tell me why post and pre entity images are used

Pre and Post images will have the context values of the entity. You need to know when to user pre and post images. Post image has the copy of entity values written into SQL Db (backend of Dynamics CRM). If you want to perform any function after creation or updation of an entity then you do not need to query the records, instead you can use Post Image.

Also, if you want compare or check the previous value with the updated value then you can use pre image.
