Convert datetime2 to string(“dd/MM/yyyy”)

i have a datetime2 column in the database.I'm trying to fetch that from database and
I want to display it in the view as string.

i tried: dt.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy");

But it gave an error.

Hi,

Try this code :
DateTime pmdate = (DateTime) dt.Rows[0]["Datetimecolumn_name"];
lblDate.Text = pmdate.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy");

I am assuming, you are trying to access data like this
dt.Rows[index][“Colname”].ToString("dd/MM/yyyy");
dt.rows[index].[ColumnName] column is DateTime in database
vardatevalue=(DateTime)dt.Rows[i]["yourdatecolumn"]
.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy",CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);

dt.rows[index].dt[ColumnName] column is String in Database
vardatevalue=DateTime.ParseExact(dt.Rows[i]["yourdatecolumn"].ToString(),
"dd-MM-yyyyhh:mm:sstt",
CultureInfo.InvariantCulture)
.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy",CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);

Hi Siva,
You are converting Datatable thats why you giver error.
You need to convert column value like
dt.Row[0]["ColumnName"].ToString("dd/MM/yyyy") ;
