Color in textbox disabled

I have some textboxes showing values in a form (I use C#). When the form loads the user can only see those values. So these textboxes have Enabled = false. If he wants to edit a textbox he must click on a specific button. Then the textboxes receive Enabled = true.

My problem is that when disabled, the textboxes have a gray colour and it's difficult to read its contents. What I want is to make disabled textbox colour = enabled textbox colour.

Can you help me?

set the forecolor that you want from the design side, but it will not work until you set the back color explicitly too.

 so set the back color as well on form_Load() as

 Alternatively, you can use a Label instead of TextBox, as a readonly TextBox is nothing more than a Label.
