Career as database designer

i am working as software developer in small company..but i found a interest in database as we have written entire logic in stored procedures...please suggest me is database is best area or application development or can be both

Hi Vasu T,

If you are planning a good carrier as database developer i must say it is not enough to stay at good position but You can be a Database Administrator in which your database developer experience can be considered, so Plan your studies as a database administrator

In small companies you can do both, actually what I experienced is that in small companies it could be easily expected from you to have multiple roles (developer/server administrator, developer/database administrator, developer/architect, etc.).

But in large companies they do not mingle different roles, so you could either work as a developer or as a DBA, but not both.
So if your preferences lie with DBA then you should focus on that and practice, for example you can start with these programming tests for SQL queries.
