What kind of function, a c# or other programming language function, or an arithmetic function? Both would be parsed in the same ways, but you'll find examples on the web using different searches. Real language and mathematical expression parsing seems to be a little-known art, reserved mostly for compiler developers, but you can find info on the web if you really want to do it yourself.
