You will need to use the pair of clients specifically for this: HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. The use of them is very simple: HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create( url ); HttpWebResponse resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); From there you can open a stream against the resp object and read out the data.
