Actually, I have an input form in the 1st tab and a grid view in the 2nd tab . in the grid view when I select the edit button then I want to retrieve data from SQL table to textboxes and dropdownlist where have a cascading operation.

If your Edit view is in first tab then on Edit change the tab from code behind

TabContainer1.ActiveTabIndex = 0; // index start from 0
