Mostly,

we prefer token based authentication (Jwt token mostly preferred) for Web API

and cookies authentication in web apps.

Login page means UI.

UI is not a part of rest services, from UI you just consume the protected resouces (endpoint) of an API.

for this, you pass username and psd to token endpoint first and in return get Token from API.

afterwards you consume any other endpoint by passing the token and other parameters as needed by your API to your api.

Thanks, but in both instances there is no login page so it may not work.
