about microsoft certification in .net

i have 6 years of experience in .net technology. i want to go for microsoft certifications. please let me know the levels and courses that i should opt for.

Start with MCTS exam in a technology of your choice, I recommend MVC, Azure, WCF etc.
to prepare buy Microsoft Press's book for that exam, you can easliy find that from a book store.
Once you have accomplished MCTS you can top-up more exams in that stream to make your own combination and chieve MCSD (which requires 4 exams to be cleared in particulat track).

MTA is the entry level certification. Companies will expect more from a guy with 6+ years of experience.

and as you have almost 6 years of rich experience, your pockets must be filled with lots of knowledge but still i would suggest you to join MVA (Microsoft Virtual Accademy)

Is it necessary to go for mta certification first then go for mcsd?

I mean will it help me out in getting preferences in job interviews.

Shall i go for mta first of mcsd.

You can go with MCSD certification because you have 6 year experience. Its advanced one.
