First create window service and write your code in that service which will process bunch of records.

if it didn't work then what you can do is on button click update status(like yes/no or 1/0 or anything else) in the database tables. The service will be in running state and which will check for particular table and column values and based on that it will run the service.After that change particular column value to opposite, not to run further.
